Teachers in the Private and Public Spheres: Ethical Orientations in Educational Interactions

Aim. The main aim of the article is a presentation comparative study differences in ethical orientations used by teachers educational practice two settings: private life as parents and public sphere, working teachers. Methods. First, hypothesis was proposed to test observations Lawrence Kohlberg (1984) Carol Gilligan (1993) regarding relative stability terms ethics care justice. To this end, an assumption made that prefer former contacts with their own children (private sphere) while favouring latter relationships students (public sphere). paired samples t-test confirmed hypothesis. Results. Based on analysis, gender found not influence teachers’ sphere; however, it seems play part sphere. This ambivalence revealed male Contrary stereotype, children, they tend lean towards ”feminine” care, but when acting capacity perpetuate ‘masculine’ stereotype following justice school interactions.
